Many exchange visits have taken place between clubs, societies and individuals. These visits are normally carried out on a reciprocal basis, whereby we are accommodated in French homes in or near Bellême and the Bellêmois are found family homes in which to stay in Goring, Streatley and the surrounding areas.

If ever there has been a language problem, we have all been surprised at how easy it is to overcome the communications barrier with smiles and sign language.

The Bellêmois are always very hospitable and look after all the English visitors very well, with plenty of good food, good wine, entertainment and friendship.

The traditional English red telephone box was presented as a surprise to the Bellêmoise as part of the 10th Anniversary celebrations in 1989 and was unveiled, fully operational, the next year in Belleme
