Gardens Visit to Bellême 16th to 19th June 2011 Points Arising from the Weekend
A few points the committee would like to make, arising from the visit:
- You don’t have to be a member or pay a subscriptions to join in any twinning trips
- You don’t have to speak French
- You don’t necessarily have to host anyone in return
- If you are a member of an organisation, would your group like to do an exchange with a similar one in Bellême?
- Visits organised by the committee usually take place over a long weekend, so that employed people don’t have to take more than a day off work. This does mean that the trips pack a lot into a short time
- We hope that visitors will make their own links and stay there independently – we have families who have been friends for more than 30 years
- It is also an opportunity to get to know people from your own village
- It’s not the same as being a tourist in France – you are part of a family and a community
