Saturday Evening Entertainment
On Saturday evening 9th July 2005 in the Benson Village Hall, wine and food was served.
It proved to be an entertaining evening with a multilingual Gardeners’ Question Time, a French/English Garden Quiz with pictures to identify, and a section which involved identifying fruit, vegetables and herbs by tasting, smelling and feeling them whilst wearing a blindfold. Everyone worked in mixed French and English Teams. There was a lot of rushing round, laughter, and I think, a fair amount of cheating! Finally each team was given a bag of assorted fruit and vegetables, a plate, knife and some cocktail sticks. With this they had to make a ‘sculpture’. This produced some good efforts mainly of the Mr Potato head variety.
All in all, a thoroughly enjoyable evening
